Natural black spinel lives up to its given name, being dark in color and having many peaks in its forms much like the Latin word for spine that its name comes from. This stone comes in many very dark colors and is often a black or dark brown when polished. It is believed to help with creating calmness and reducing forgetfulness, so long as you don't forget the stone itself somewhere of course!
Intrinsic Trading black spinel is found in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Burma.

These are very small and delicate stones. I would purchase more than one strand if you really want a mix. There was a lot of garnet, crystal (possibly moon stone) and lots of black with a few single peridot, yellow calcite, pink quartz, blue lapis(maybe sodalite), Smokey Quartz and one Amazonite.
