Lazasine
Lazasine comes from a small private mine in Tibet. The mine is located at an elevation of 4,000 m, in a frigid area with thin air. There is no more mining, making this stone highly sought after. Lazasine is a gem-quality feldspar derived from volcano sediments related to Jurassic-Cretaceous volcanic rocks. This copper-bearing feldspar (andesine) is prized for its color and rarity. Orange-red to red is the typical color but green material is occasionally found. This red andesine is also called "Tibetan sunstone" and "Tibetan red labradorite", and endowed with spiritual power. Intrinsic Trading is the first and only company that has produced calibrated round beads out of this rare gemstone.
