California Proposition 65
California Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, requires businesses to provide warnings to California consumers regarding certain exposures to chemicals that the State of California has identified as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
The Proposition 65 list includes a wide range of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals and is updated periodically by the State of California.
Our Products
Intrinsic Trading offers natural gemstones, beads, pearls, jewelry-making components, findings, and related products sourced from suppliers around the world.
Because many of our products are made from natural minerals and other naturally occurring materials, their exact composition can vary. Certain products or components may also contain substances that appear on California's Proposition 65 list.
The presence of a Proposition 65-listed chemical does not necessarily mean that a product presents a health risk or that a Proposition 65 warning is required. Under Proposition 65, warnings generally apply when an exposure to a listed chemical exceeds applicable exposure thresholds or otherwise meets the requirements of the law.
California Customers
Where we determine that a Proposition 65 warning is required for a product, the appropriate warning may be provided on the product, product packaging, product listing, or otherwise in connection with the sale as required by applicable regulations.
A Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean that a product is unsafe or violates any product-safety standard. The warning is intended to inform California consumers of potential exposure to chemicals identified by the State of California.
